Victor Osimhen is not giving up on his dream of winning the Italian Serie A title this season, despite Napoli’s 3-2 setback at home to Fiorentina.
The Napoli striker Victor Osimhen believes his team is still very much in the title race
Luciano Spalletti’s side had won their previous three games and were on a three-game unbeaten run when they met Fiorentina, who had also been in excellent form, having picked up eight points in their previous four games.
The 23-year-old Nigerian attacker was superb, scoring one goal and providing one assist, but Napoli’s defense let them down, allowing them to lose by a razor-thin margin.
At the Diego Maradona Stadium, goals from Gonzales, Ikone, and Cabral were enough to give Fiorentina the crucial three points.
Napoli’s prospects of winning the title are now in jeopardy, as they are currently third in the rankings, two points behind leaders AC Milan.
Osimhen, who claimed he was hurt by the narrow defeat, maintained that their ambitions of winning the Serie A title will not be crushed.
The Super Eagles forward expressed his dissatisfaction with the defeat at home on Twitter, but said that the Napoli side will keep believing.
“Hurtful Defeat But Wonβt Let Our Hope Be Dashed, We Keep Believing.”

Following his recent performance for Napoli, the Nigerian is progressively hushing his doubters, and he will be aiming for more goals when they face Jose Mourinho’s Roma on Monday night.
