In Monday night showdown, Serie A witnessed an exciting Super Eagles’ derby where a goal by Victor Osimhen was cancelled out by a last-minute equaliser from his compatriot Isaac Success, dragging Napoli to a 1-1 draw against Udinese at the Bluenergy Stadium.
Three Nigerian players, all Super Eagles, took to the field, with Maduka Okoye in goal for Udinese, Isaac Success leading the attack, and Victor Osimhen spearheading Napoli’s offence, Footballrover reports.
First Half Stalemate
The first half ended goalless, but Osimhen broke the deadlock with a powerful header six minutes into the second half, securing his 15th Serie A goal of the season.
The Nigerian striker’s header was a beauty, rising above two Udinese defenders to meet a cross from the right wing.
Late Drama
Osimhen thought he had sealed the win with another goal in the 80th minute, but it was ruled offside.
Maduka Okoye denied Osimhen a hat-trick with a crucial save, and Napoli continued to push for a second goal.
However, Isaac Success stunned them with a late equaliser in stoppage time, rescuing a draw for Udinese.
