Remo Stars’ defender Victor Collins has openly revealed that winning the 2023 Value Jet Cup wasn’t his team’s target after they crashed out of the tournament.
In the face of a challenging start to the new season, the 22-year-old defender remains undeterred, expressing optimism for the upcoming 2023/24 campaign.
The team recently encountered a setback, enduring a decisive 3-0 loss to Shooting Stars during the semi-finals of the ongoing Value Jet Cup.

The left-footed center back, opened up about the defeat and the team’s unwavering determination.
“I totally accept the outcome of the game, yes we lost but the most important thing for and our focus right now is the CAF Champions League preliminary round against Medema FC, which will comes up in ten days time,” he said.
Following the ValueJet Cup disappointment, Collins, who recently joined the Sky Blue Stars from Nasarawa United shed light on the team’s rigorous training regimen in anticipation of the CAF Champions League showdown.
“We trained twice yesterday in preparation of the game, even as we lost against Shooting Stars,” he said.
Despite the loss to Shooting Stars, Collins highlighted the coach’s understanding approach, recognizing the team’s dedication towards the upcoming Medema FC clash.
“The coach was not really angry with us because our hopes and focus is all on the game against Medema FC,” he said.
