Victor Boniface, the Bundesliga sensation, has been making headlines not just for his prowess on the field, but for his amusing social media presence filled with memes.
The Super Eagles striker has recently disclosed the reason behind his hilarious meme-filled posts on X (formerly Twitter).
Since his arrival at Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, the 22-year-old striker has taken the football world by storm, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in his first ten competitive appearances for the club.
Yet, it’s not just his football skills that have garnered attention. Victor Boniface has quickly become a social media sensation, amassing a significant following with his unique sense of humor, Footballrover reports
Since joining Bayer Leverkusen, he has regularly shared memes, funny videos, and witty captions alongside photos of his on-field achievements.
This surge in his online presence has led to a substantial increase in his followers on Twitter. Remarkably, Boniface’s social media style is reminiscent of Napoli star Victor Osimhen’s previous activity on Instagram.
However, Boniface had initially been reluctant to embrace Twitter as a platform for his comedic posts.
In a conversation with Oma Akatugba, Boniface revealed his initial disinterest in Twitter and the world of memes.
It was only at the encouragement of friends that he decided to give it a try. Astonishingly, after his first meme post with the caption “givers never lack,” his follower count skyrocketed from 122 to 3,000 in no time.
This unexpected surge left him hesitant, causing him to delete the post. However, when he reposted it, the outcome was even more astounding, with nearly 25,000 followers the following day.
Victor Boniface’s meteoric rise on social media is endearing him not only to his fans but to Nigerian football enthusiasts as well.
If he continues to capture hearts both on and off the field, he might well emerge as one of Nigeria’s brightest stars in the years to come.
