The Super Eagles star’s late strike snatched all three points for Leverkusen in a game filled with twists and turns, Footballrover reports.

With the score tied at 3-3, head coach Xabi Alonso introduced Boniface in the 66th minute to replace Patrick Schick.

The 23-year-old Nigerian wasted no time making his presence felt, firing home the decisive goal deep into stoppage time to seal the win.

Bonifaceā€™s display came just a week after he bagged two goals in Leverkusenā€™s 4-1 triumph over Hoffenheim.

The Nigerian forward now has three goals to his name in the Bundesliga this season.

Interestingly, his fellow countryman, Nathan Tella, was not included in Leverkusenā€™s matchday squad for the game.

The match kicked off with an early setback for Leverkusen, as an own goal by defender Nordi Mukiele gave Wolfsburg the lead just five minutes in.

However, Florian Wirtz quickly equalised nine minutes later, and Jonathan Tahā€™s strike in the 36th minute put Leverkusen ahead.
