Super Eagles star Victor Boniface has taken to social media to celebrate his achievements with Bayer Leverkusen, declaring that two trophies in his first season are not so bad after all, following the team’s recent success in the German Cup for the first time in 31 years.
The Nigerian international won his first two trophies with the new German giants in a season that saw him record over 21 goals and nine assists in all competitions.
Bayer Leverkusen defeated Bundesliga 2 side Kaiserslautern 1-0 in the final on Saturday night, with Granit Xhaka scoring the winning goal in the 16th minute.
Despite Odilon Kossounou being sent off in the first half, Boniface and his team managed to hold on to their lead to secure the historic win.
Boniface, who started from the bench alongside fellow Super Eagles player Nathan Tella, was overjoyed with the team’s achievement.

The German Cup was a trophy that had always eluded Bayer Leverkusen, with the team reaching the final three times in the last 24 years but failing to win.
This season, Boniface and Tella have enjoyed a lot of success with Die Werkself, and their trophy ensured that the club won its first-ever double.
The Super Eagles forward couldn’t hide his pride and excitement about being part of this historic moment, taking to social media to celebrate.
“2 in my first season, not bad,” he wrote on his X page (formerly Twitter).
