Luciano Rodriguez scored the winning goal for Uruguay in the 86th minute of the first half of the match played at Estadio Ciudad de la Plata, La Plata.

The first 45 minutes of the match ended goalless, with four Italian players receiving yellow cards in the match: Gabriele Guarino (33 minutes), Matteo Pratti (83 minutes), and Mattia Zanotti (90 minutes) for foul play. Giuseppe Ambrosio received a yellow for simulation.

Meanwhile, Debutants, Israel, pulled off another shocking result with a 3-1 victory against Korea Republic in the third-place playoff match of the U-20 football world cup encounter.

Israel qualified in Group C of the 2023 U-20 World Cup with 4 points behind leaders Colombia (7 points) after a 1-1 win against Japan (2-1), a 1-2 loss against group C leaders Colombia (1-0), and a 1-1 draw with CAF U-20 football champions Senegal.

Israel defeated Uzbekistan 1-0 in the round of 16 before sending tournament favorite Brazil home with a 3-2 scoreline after extra time.

Uruguay stopped the rampaging victories of the Israeli U-20 football team in the semi-final with a goal victory in the semi-final of the tournament to set the stage for third place earlier today.
