Super Falcons midfielder – Ucheibe Christy is excited to celebrate a big win with SL Benfica as they ushered in the new year by crushing Torreense in their Campeonato Nacional, Women match on Sunday.

The Filipa Pato team defeated Torreense 6-0 away from home at the Parque Desportivo Maximino Franco Dos Santos stadium with Ucheibe Christy playing a key role.

Within the first six minutes of play, Ana Rita Seiça gave the visitors the lead and just before halftime, Francisca Nazareth increased the advantage by two goals.

Jessica Silva added her name on the scoresheet to make it 3-0 for the visiting team after 61 minutes of play, and she added yet another seven minutes later to make it 4-0.

Francisca Nazareth doubled her game tally in the 74th minute, while Cloé Lacasse added another goal 13 minutes later to complete the thrashing and secure all three points.

It’s a significant victory for SL Benfica, who have won six straight games against Torreense without suffering a defeat. Ucheibe displayed an incredible performance for Benfica in the middle of the field.

The 22-year-old has already been able to firmly establish her spot in the team following a succession of outstanding performances.

With the victory, SL Benfica, who have 30 points after 10 games in the 1a Divisão Women league, remain in first place, while Torreense falls to eighth place with just 10 points.

When Ucheibe and her teammates travel to Valadares for their Taça da Liga Feminina semifinal matchup at the Sports Complex De Valadares on Wednesday, they’ll be hoping to keep up their winning streak.

SL Benfica won the first leg 5-0 at home, giving them a significant advantage on aggregate.
