Seems Northern African side – Tunisia are gradually edging out of the World Cup after they failed to secure a win in their second match of the tournament against Australia, who sealed a 1-0 victory at the Al Janoub Stadium on Saturday.
Tunisia came into this match with decent momentum, having drawn 0-0 with Denmark in their opening game of the tournament.
They were in a respectable position going into today’s game thanks to the outcome, and they hoped to use a win to put pressure on the other teams in Group D.
While Australia had a strong start against France, unfortunately, the momentum swiftly switched against them. The French responded forcefully, thrashing the Australians 4-1.
Mitchell Duke’s header gave Australia a 1-0 lead over the Northern African team just 23 minutes into the match.

For the Socceroos to score, Duke tipped Craig Goodwin’s deflected cross into the goal.
Although it took some time, Tunisia eventually managed to respond. Youssef Msakni shot wide of the post from close range, and Harry Souttar made a strong block to stop Mohamed Drager’s attempt on goal.
To find a way back into the game in the second half, Tunisia and their manager Jalel Kadri attempted to create a cutting edge in the final third but completely failed.

The scoreline remained the same till final whistle, leaving Australia winners as they secured a vital three points.
Tunisia have never advanced past the group stage of the World Cup, and need to work on their performance particularly, because their next group matchup is against France.
While Australia will be hoping to find a spot in the knockout stages when they face Denmark.
