In a thrilling match at the Hamam Ammar Stadium, Omoyele and his teammates secured vital three points with goals from Maxwell Baakoh and Hacene Ogbi Benhadouche, who successfully converted two penalties in the 55th and 82nd minutes, respectively.
Despite a valiant effort by JS Kabyle, including a goal by Rachid Ait-Atmane, it wasn’t enough to save them from the narrow defeat.
This victory propels Tosin Omoyele and his colleagues to 4th place in the Algerian Ligue 1, with just one point separating them from the league leaders, and a game in hand.
JS Kabyle currently occupies the 6th position in the league table.
After the game, the 27-year-old forward, who is yet to find back of the net this season, took to his X page (formerly Twitter) to express his excitement and celebrate his team’s home victory.
“Tough game against Kabyle but I’m excited we won the match.”
He previously spent the latter part of the last Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season at Katsina United.
USM Khenchela, the champions of the Algerian second division, have made a remarkable leap to the elite division and strengthened their squad with the addition of Omoyele, who has also been capped at the senior level with Nigeria.
This success marks an exciting journey for both the player and his new team.
