Tosin Omoyele celebrates as USM Khenchela secured a thrilling 3-2 away win over Algerian champions Chabab Belouizdad. This match took place at the August 20, 1955 Stadium in Algiers.

Khenchela came into this game after two victories against EntĂȘntĂȘ Setif and JS Kabylie. Omoyele’s early goal in the 7th minute set the tone for Khenchela’s third consecutive win, capitalizing on an error by Belouizdad’s Adlene Guediora.

Omoyele Tosin pounced on the mistake to open the scoring for Khenchela.

Despite Belouizdad’s equalizer in the 25th minute due to an own goal by Khenchela’s Nabil Saadou, Khenchela regained the lead just before halftime, with Hamza Rebiai profiting from a goalkeeper error.

The first half ended 2-2 with Oussama Darfalou’s goal for Belouizdad. Belouizdad missed a crucial penalty opportunity, thanks to a magnificent save by Khenchela’s goalkeeper Sofiane Khedairia.

Omoyele’s influence continued as the 27-year-old set up Sid Ali Lamri, earning a penalty. Hassen Ogbi Benhadouche converted it, securing a famous win for Khenchela.

Omoyele expressed his joy on his his X page (formerly Twitter), saying:

First goal of the season and our third consecutive win. We keep getting better together as a team. Excited for the goal.

This win keeps Khenchela in second place on the league table, narrowly trailing leaders MC Alger due to goal difference, despite playing one game less.

Next, Khenchela faces CAF Confederation Cup champions USM Alger in another challenging fixture in Algiers.
