Nigerian forward – Tosin Kehinde was on target as 10-man Randers were held to a home league draw in their Danish Superliga game against Aalborg BK on Wednesday evening.
With Stephen Odey out of the lineup, the forward seized the moment to score, helping Randers earn a hard-fought 2-2 tie against AaB at Cepheus Park.
Both teams started the game strongly, but it was the visitors who struck first, with Serbian forward Milan Makari finishing just 17 minutes in.
Before the 23-year-old Nigerian – Tosin Kehinde responded merely 3 minutes into the second half to get his team back into the game with a simple tap-in after the ball bounced off the goalkeeper.
The forward should have doubled his tally of the game with a solo effort but was easily denied by the AaB goalkeeper, who parried the ball to corner kick.
58 minutes on the clock, Randers snatched the lead through Lasse Berg Johnsen, who scored from the penalty spot to make the score 2-1.
As the Thomas Thomasberg side attempted to build momentum to double their lead, they rather found themselves reduced to ten men after Graves Jensen was issued a red card.
Following the red card, the visitors applied pressure and launched a massive attack, which paid off in the 70th minute when Iver Fossum hauled them back into the game.
The red card for Randers gave AaB a way back into the game as the home side were still dominating since going behind.
But Tosin Kehinde and his team held on to see off a 2-2 draw at the final whistle and he was later awarded man-of-match for his stunning display.
Randers are now two points behind their visitors, who are in fourth position with 45 points after 30 games.
Randers will be hosting the League leaders, Copenhagen, in the Danish Superliga playoff next Sunday.
