Speaking ahead of Genk’s Jupiler Pro League clash against Union Saint-Gilloise, Fink praised Arokodare’s hard work and rising influence in Belgian football, Footballrover reports.

Arokodare’s selection for Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe comes at the expense of former Genk stars Paul Onuachu and Cyriel Dessers, both of whom were initially named in the 39-man provisional squad but missed the final cut.

“It is a country that has a choice of many top strikers. It means that Tolu is playing at a very high level. He is working harder than ever, his data proves that,” Fink said, as quoted by Belgian outlet Het Belang van Limburg.

He further expressed hope that the national team call-up would serve as extra motivation for Arokodare to push harder in the final stretch of the season.
