Tolu Arokodare’s impressive rise at Racing Genk has caught the attention of top clubs across Europe, but manager Thorsten Fink has now revealed what the Super Eagles prospect must do to secure transfer freedom in the upcoming summer window.
Despite recent speculation surrounding Arokodare’s future, Fink’s comments suggest a possible turning point in the striker’s career, footballrover reports.
Arokodare’s transformation and key role at Genk
After facing early criticism, Tolu Arokodare has silenced doubters with 13 goals this season, becoming Genk’s top scorer.
His ability to pressure defences, maintain possession, and finish with precision has made him indispensable to the team.
Yet, Genk’s reliance on transfer income raises questions about his future.
While the club has sold key players like Paul Onuachu and Joseph Paintsil in the past, Arokodare’s case might differ, thanks to Fink’s growing admiration for his contributions.
Fink’s advice on Tolu Arokodare’s transfer freedom
In an interview with DAZN, Fink explained that Tolu’s transfer freedom would be earned through continued hard work.
The coach praised the Nigerian forward’s remarkable attributes, describing him as a rare combination of speed, height (1.97 meters), and finishing ability.
Fink encouraged Tolu to maintain his intensity, teamwork, and leadership to further enhance his prospects.
The manager also stated that after giving his best over the next five months, Super Eagles prospect would have the freedom to choose his next club, should he decide to leave Genk.
“Now I’ve told him: Boy, five more months of full throttle. And I think he’ll be able to choose the clubs. If he even wants to leave,” the coach said as quoted by Voetbalkrant.
