Frank Lampard, Everton’s new manager, has claimed that his team’s performance over Brentford was something spectacular that he will never forget.
Lampard’s first game in command of Everton was a 4-1 FA Cup triumph over Brentford, giving him the perfect start to life at Goodison Park.
The Chelsea legend expresses his gratitude to the fans, who have been extremely hospitable since his first day in office.
Yerry Mina’s header gave the Toffees their first lead in a match since October.

Mina was on the field due to an early injury to Ben Godfrey, only to open scoring for the hosts.
However, when Richarlison extended their lead just after halftime, the former Chelsea manager saw his team put themselves under unneeded strain by conceding a second-half penalty to Ivan Toney.
Mason Holgate’s first goal since December 2020, on the other hand, ensured Everton’s progression to the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The goal triggered chants of “Super Frankie Lampard” from all 4 corners of Goodison Park, and substitute Andros Townsend’s added-time strike brightened the mood even further, thank to Super Eagles man – Alex Iwobi with the assist.

“I have huge thanks to the fans, who have been so welcoming from my first day. Today was something very special and something I’ll never forget. We all hear about the Goodison effect and we wanted to bring that out today – the way the players played did that,” Lampard said.
