Up and running for the season!
After winning two of their first three French Ligue 1 games and drawing the other, Les Merlus is still undefeated in the league this season.
Two Nigerian internationals contributed to the victory: midfielder Innocent Bonke came on as a replacement in the 81st minute, while Terem Moffi started and was crucial for Lorient.
Meanwhile, at the other end of Ligue 1, Moses Simon scored his second goal of the season to get the season going for him with his team – Nantes.
The 27-year-old winger was in outstanding form, providing an assist as Nantes overcame Toulouse to earn its first Ligue 1 victory of the season.
The Super Eagles forward led the home team to a come-back victory on Sunday with one goal and one assist in Nantes’ comfortable win over Toulouse.
Moses Simon, Evann Gruessand, and Mostafa Mohammed all contributed significantly to Nantes’ successful end to their losing streak, making them deserving players of the match.
The defending French Cup champions are off to a good start this year after ending a drought of four games without a victory in every competition.
This season, Nantes played four competitive games and failed to secure a win in all, including the Super Cup loss to PSG.
