OGC Nice striker Terem Igobor Moffi has officially joined two Super Eagles Legends to engrave his name into the record book of French football history by netting his 50th goal in a thrilling encounter against relegation-threatened Nantes in Ligue 1.
Moffi, who made the switch to OGC Nice from F.C. Lorient in January 2023, displayed his strength once again after a stellar three-year spell with Le FCL Les tangos et noirs, where he garnered a remarkable 34 goals in 84 appearances, Footballrover reports.
Following a promising debut season with Nice, where he notched up six goals, Moffi surged into double digits in the current campaign, achieving the milestone in just 23 appearances in the French top flight.
The historic moment unfolded at the Allianz Riviera when a pinpoint cross from Kevin Amian found Matthis Albine, who calmly slotted home to open the scoring for Nantes barely 19 minutes into the game.
However, it was Moffi’s penalty kick that stole the spotlight, reminiscent of his heroics at AFCON 2023, as he confidently dispatched his 50th Ligue 1 goal past Nantes goalkeeper Albane LaFont.
Joining the esteemed ranks of former Super Eagles stars, including John Utaka with 59 goals and Victor Ikpeba with 55, Moffi’s accomplishments show his growing influence and impact in the French League.
