Nigeria’s Super Falcons sent a powerful message at WAFCON 2024, storming into the semi-finals with a commanding 5-0 win over Zambia on Friday.

The reigning queens of African women’s football wasted no time in stamping their authority, scoring early and dominating throughout the quarter-final clash, Footballrover reports.
The result sets up a mouth-watering semi-final showdown against either South Africa or Senegal.
Super Falcons Strike Early and Never Look Back
The Super Falcons came out blazing, and it took just two minutes for their intent to show. Osinachi Ohale headed home from an Esther Okoronkwo free-kick to give Nigeria the perfect start.

Okoronkwo doubled the lead in the 33rd minute with a powerful left-footed strike after expertly controlling Rasheedat Ajibade’s cross with her chest.
Zambia struggled to contain the Falcons’ fluid attack, and soon, the floodgates opened.
In the second half, Chiwendu Ihezuo made it 3-0 after capitalizing on a defensive error.
She outmuscled her marker and calmly slotted past the goalkeeper. The pressure didn’t ease, and Tosin Demehin rose highest in the 68th minute to head home yet another Okoronkwo delivery, making it four.
The final nail in Zambia’s coffin came in the 90th minute, when Ijamilusi tapped in a low cross from Ajibade, sealing a statement victory for Nigeria at WAFCON 2024.

With this emphatic win, the Super Falcons are one step closer to defending their dominance on the continent.

Their next test will be in the semi-finals against either South Africa or Senegal, both of whom will be wary of facing a Nigerian side brimming with confidence.
This performance not only shows Nigeria’s strength in depth but also highlights their hunger to reclaim the WAFCON 2024 crown.
With five different players on the scoresheet, the Falcons showed they are not just winners—they’re entertainers.
