Super Eagles Derby: Iheanacho, Ndidi, Dennis, Aribo, Iwobi in disappointing outing

The recent Super Eagles Derby in the Premier League has ended in a dreadful performance, a show of humiliation, and without any talking points as all the Nigerian players failed to have any significant impact for their individual clubs.Super Eagles Derby: Iheanacho, Ndidi, Dennis, Aribo, Iwobi in disappointing outing

Nigerian international Alex Iwobi made a shocking comeback to action in the English Premier League match between Everton and Southampton at Goodison Park. Everton lost to Southampton.

Alex Iwobi somehow returned to the field of play after being stretched off courtesy of silly challenge by Tyrell Malacia during Manchester United vs. Everton’s FA Cup third-round match.

Despite making a 90-minute appearance after recovering from an injury, the 26-year-old wasn’t able to save the Frank Lampard team from the drop. Joe Aribo, his Nigerian counterpart, wasn’t even used as a substitute for Southampton.Super Eagles Derby: Iheanacho, Ndidi, Dennis, Aribo, Iwobi in disappointing outing

James Ward-Prowse scored two goals to lead the Saints to a 2-1 victory over the Toffees, while Amadou Onana consolation goal for the hosts.

Another match that ended in humiliation for Super Eagles players was the one between Nottingham Forest and Leicester City.

Both Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho played in the match as Leicester City suffered their fourth straight Premier League defeat.

Following a well-deserved victory, Brennan Johnson’s two goals allowed Nottingham Forest to go three points ahead of their East Midlands rivals – Leicester City.

While Taiwo Awoniyi missed the entire game due to injury, Emmanuel Dennis was totally ignored on the bench and still struggling to impress the Forest coach.

The Super Eagles players have had a difficult walk in the 2023–24 season as Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo, and Alex Iwobi are all fighting for their teams’ survival in the Premier League.
