After getting on the score sheet to assist his team, Shkupi FC, in beating KF Shkëndija at home over the weekend, Nigerian star Sunday Adetunji displayed his joy at the achievement.
The Nigerian forward scored in Shkupi’s tenacious victory on Sunday in order to keep showcasing his goal-scoring prowess in Macedonia’s top division.
The visiting Shkëndija got off to a strong start in the match, as Albanian attacker Eraldo Cinari swiftly scored the game’s first goal barely 17 minutes into play.
11 minutes later, the ruthless 25-year-old Nigerian striker, Adetunji Sunday then pulled the home team back into the game with a straightforward tap-in after the Shkndija defense failed to clear the ball from their 18-yard box.
With 13 minutes remaining on the clock, Shkupi center-back, Darko Llieski, was able to earn the hosts the lead and they held onto the slim advantage to secure the victory and all three points.
Adetunji, who couldn’t contain his joy at winning, posted on his Twitter page shortly after the game to say,
“Home win for us yesterday, I’m excited to get on the scorer sheet. This is for our home fans.”
