Brendan Rodgers’ decision to start Kelechi Iheanacho as a lone striker against Arsenal has been criticised by football fans, lovers, and Leicester City supporters.
All Mikel Arteta’s team needed were goals from Partey and Lacazette to breeze past Leicester and secure all three points in their Premier League game at home.
With the loss, Leicester has now conceded 65 Premier League goals against Arsenal, the most in the competition against any team.
The 25-year-old Nigerian played 73 minutes at the Emirate Stadium, making no impact for his team, received a yellow card 30 minutes into the game and almost earned a red card before being replaced by Daka.
This season, Iheanacho has appeared in 26 games for Leicester City in all competitions, scoring five goals and assisting nine times.
These supporters believe that the Nigerian forward should be paired along side another striker more often, rather than as a lone striker to get the best out of him.
Many supporters expected to see more of Iheanacho and Daka playing together now that Jamie Vardy is sidelined for 3-4 weeks, yet the contrary is happening.
Leicester City supporters are enraged, and they are telling Brendan Rodgers to quit playing Kelechi Iheanacho up front as a lone striker.
Injuries aside, Rodgersโ tactical choices have often been baffling. Heโs given Iheanacho just 7 league starts this season & when gives him a rare start at the Emirates, he uses him as a lone 9 (Daka benched) when Iheanacho has always thrived as a 2nd striker in a strike pairing.

The game is done why not just play Daka and Iheanacho together ffs.

I swear to god if he brings Daka on for Iheanacho again instead of playing them in a 2โฆ

Last and only time Iheanacho paired with Daka he had 2 assists and Daka scored 4….

Iheanacho as a lone striker is like playing a player down.
What do you expect from him?
Outrun his markers?
Hold up play?
Overpower the opponent defenders?
Win aerial balls?
Run with the ball? These are qualities of a lone striker and he has none of them.

When Vardy is unavailable I think you have to start with Daka and Iheanacho. Both so ineffective on their own

Will we ever see Iheanacho and Daka play together again? #lcfc

I agree, Rodgers probably wonโt start with two up front but when chasing a game itโd be great to go for it and leave them both on. Their play styles compliment each other so well.

Do the right thing and give these two some game time together tonight @BrendanRodgers
Daka needs service, and Iheanacho thrives in a two as a play maker. You know it makes sense
