Two goals from both halves were all the Nigerian side needed to edge past their Swedish counterpart on Monday morning, Footballrover reports.

Goals from Emmanuel Ugochukwu and Bidemi Amole earned the team a comfortable 2-0 win in their first game of the Gothia Puma competition.

Both sides started off the game on a good note, but it only took the Nigerians just 10 minutes to exact their dominance over their opponent.

A well-laid pass from Yusuf Abdullahi was directed beautifully by Emmanuel Ugochukwu into the top right corner to hand Sporting Lagos Academy the lead.

After the first goal, Sporting Academy kept enjoying a good spell of possession, and barely nine minutes later, Yusuf Abdullahi was presented with a chance to double the lead as he took a close-range free kick, but it was blocked.

Yusuf Abdullahi kept causing trouble down the left-hand side of the pitch of play as he saw another of his shots saved moments later.

After a solid performance, the young Tech Boys took the 1-0 lead into the first half break.

Coming into the second period of the game, the Nigerian team continued to show their strength until Lucky combined beautifully with Bidemi Amole to register the second goal.

And that proved to be the winner, handing Sporting Lagos a well-deserved start to the 2024 tournament in Sweden.
