At the Futbalové ihrisko ŠK Nová Dedinka, 20-year-old defender Sheun Emmanuel lit up the field with a stunning performance, scoring a brilliant brace to lead Skalica to a commanding 6-1 victory over Nová Dedinka in the Slovak Cup.
Sheun Emmanuel’s goals were the icing on the cake for Skalica as they celebrated a dominant win in Wednesday’s Slovakia Cup match, Footballrover reports.
The midweek fixture saw the talented left-back net two second-half goals in what was a one-sided affair.
Skalica had already stormed to a 4-0 lead in the first half, setting the stage for Emmanuel’s heroics.
The scoring spree began just five minutes into the match when Jan Vlasko broke the deadlock. Lukas Leginus doubled the lead only three minutes later.
By the 15th minute, Marek Fábry had made it 3-0, and Adam Morong’s strike just five minutes after that put Skalica firmly in control with a 4-0 advantage at halftime.
In the second half, Emmanuel added to the tally with goals in the 69th and a brilliant free kick in the 88th minutes, sealing the victory for the visitors.
Although the home side managed to pull one back through Jakub Popík just four minutes into the second half, it was merely a consolation as Nová Dedinka’s hopes of a comeback quickly faded.
This emphatic win in the second round of the Cup games marked Skalica’s first victory in five matches, ending a run of back-to-back draws and two consecutive defeats.
Looking ahead, Skalica will hope to carry this momentum into their next game, a home fixture against Košice at the Mestský štadión Skalica on Saturday.
Sheun Emmanuel and his teammates are determined to fight their way out of the relegation zone in the Slovakian Nike Liga.
They currently find themselves at the bottom of the 12-team table with just two points from four games after losing their opening two fixtures and drawing the next two.
