Super Eagles star Saviour Godwin delivered a moment of brilliance on the final day of the league, providing a crucial assist that ultimately saved his team Al-Okhdood from relegation.

His contribution inspired his team, Al-Okhdood Club, to a dramatic escape during their Saudi Pro League game on Monday evening, Footballrover reports.

The 28-year-old forward was instrumental in the comeback, providing the assist for the equalising second goal as Al-Okhdood scored two late goals to secure a sensational 3-2 victory over Al-Khaleej at the Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium.

Having been in superb form during their relegation battle, this assist marked Godwin’s fourth of the season, bringing his total goal contributions to an impressive 11 (seven goals and four assists).

What unfolded was a truly unforgettable comeback. Al-Okhdood snatched a sensational victory in a thrilling 5-goal encounter against Al-Khaleej.

Konstantinos Fortounis had seemingly put Al-Khaleej in a commanding position early on, finding the back of the net twice within 13 minutes.

However, Al-Okhdood had other ideas. Muhannad Al Qaydhi ignited a spark for the visitors by pulling a goal back in the 65th minute.

The drama intensified deep into stoppage time when Saleh Al Abbas equalised in the 95th minute, thanks to a slick assist from Saviour Godwin.

The turnaround was complete in the 15th minute of added time when Mohammed Al Jahif calmly converted a penalty.

From despair to utter delight, Al-Okhdood walked away with all three points on a night filled with magic, inspiration and determination.

This victory ensured that Al-Okhdood finished their campaign in 15th place in the Saudi Pro League with 34 points, successfully staying above Odion Ighalo’s Al Wehda, who finished in 16th place with 33 points after losing 2-1 to Al Ettifaq.
