The Sodertalje Fotbollsarena came alive on Saturday as Nigerian forward Samuel Nnamani spearheaded a thrilling 3-2 home victory for Nordic United against Enkopings SK in their Sweden Ettan Norra clash.
This nail-biting encounter showed Nordic United’s fighting spirit, securing three vital points in a five-goal battle that kept fans entertained until the very end, Footballrover reports.
Samuel Nnamani’s eighth strike seals the deal
The match kicked off with immediate action. Ulloa Niinivirta put Nordic ahead just eight minutes in.
Then, the spotlight shifted to Nnamani, who, just eleven minutes later, brilliantly extended Nordic United‘s lead to 2-0.
The 30-year-old forward has now scored five goals in his last eight outings with the club, taking his season tally to eight goals in 13 appearances.
However, an unexpected own goal by Nhome Daneyl just before halftime gave Enköpings a crucial lifeline, narrowing the score to 2-1 and promising a tense second half.
Nordic United’s hard-fought win over Enkopings
The second half was a true test of nerve for the host team. Emmanuel Swedi seemed to have secured the win with a goal just two minutes before regulation time.
Yet, Enköpings refused to quit, with Axel Lundgren scoring in the 90th minute, pushing the game to a dramatic 3-2 finish.
This hard-earned victory was especially sweet for Nordic after their recent draw, allowing them to climb the league table.
With this result, Nordic now sits 5th in the 16-team league, only three points shy of the top spot.
Nnamani and his teammates will now have to prepare well to face the league leaders Hammarby TFF on Matchday 15, eager to continue their winning momentum.
