Super Falcons defender Rofiat Imuran has officially signed with London City Lionesses in the English Women’s Championship.
The Nigerian international arrives on a free transfer, committing to a three-year deal with the club at Hayes Lane, Footballrover reports.
Imuran, who played a key role in Nigeria’s 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign, previously displayed her talents with French club Stade Reims.
During her two seasons in France, the 20-year-old defender helped guide the team to consecutive top-six finishes, making her a vital part of the Red and Whites’ defensive unit.
Upon signing her contract, Imuran expressed her excitement about the new chapter in her career.
The move to London City Lionesses marks an important step for the talented youngster, who revealed two major factors that influenced her decision to join the club.
“I’m very excited to join London City Lionesses and start a new chapter in my career in England. Everyone has been so welcoming since I arrived and I look forward to being able to help the team on the pitch.
“I wanted to come to London City because the coach presented an interesting project and I wanted a different challenge,” Imuran said.
