Having spent an impressive five years with the Pride of Rivers, Malachi now seeks to explore new opportunities to find greener pastures elsewhere.

The Nigerian striker officially became a free agent following the completion of his contract with Rivers United.

His journey with the club began in 2018, marking the start of what would become a fruitful association.

Malachi’s contributions to the team cannot be understated, particularly in the recent 2021/22 NPL season.

He played a vital role in Rivers United’s title-winning campaign, helping the squad secure the championship trophy.

Throughout the season, he showcased his skills on the field, scoring six goals and playing a crucial part in earning the team a coveted spot in the CAF Confederation Cup.

However, as the season progressed, Malachi found himself falling out of favour at the club, as he spent more time on the bench than the field of play.

Players such as Nyima Nwagua and Lukman Adefemi emerged as preferred choices for the striker positions, limiting Malachi’s opportunities on the pitch.

Now, as a free agent, Malachi has garnered interest from various quarters as reports suggest that both Enyimba and Remo Stars have inquired about acquiring the services of the talented striker.

While a move abroad is also a possibility, the lure of continental football may entice him to join the nine-time NPL champions, Enyimba, or alternatively, consider a move to Remo Stars.

Malachi’s departure from Rivers United marks the end of an era for both the player and the club.

With his sights set on new challenges, he embarks on a journey that will closely followed by his fans as they expect him to make a significant impact wherever he chooses to go.
