Eguma spoke exclusively with Footballrovers at Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt following the week three 2022/2023 NPFL matchup versus Niger Tornadoes of Minna.

He emphasized that every team in the league would want to frustrate his team because they are the defending champions, but he stressed that they are unstoppable in achieving their objectives and successfully defending the league.

Eguma claimed that the introduction of new players hired by the Club and losing his two top strikers has caused his wards’ struggles to score in the games they have played thus far.

He promised, however, that the team will improve in the games to come.

The manager expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance after their 2-1 victory over Niger Tornadoes, noting that they had defeated a seasoned and tenacious opponent.

I’m pleased with how things turned out. Thank God that we were able to thwart the Niger Tornadoes’ purpose today when they arrived in Port Harcourt.” – he said.

Rivers United FC has a record of 2-1 win against Niger Tornadoes, 1-0 win at home against Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi, and 1-1 on the road against Sunshine Stars in Akure.

With the Victory, the Stanley Eguma side are now top of the NPFL Group B table with 7 points after three game, followed by Abia Warriors, Niger Tornadoes and Lobi stars, who are in 2nd, 3rd and 4th spot respectively with six points.
