Ahead of their crucial South-South derby against Bayelsa Queens later today, Rivers Angels star midfielder Polinus Ifeoma has expressed huge confidence in her team’s ability to secure victory.
The Jewel of Rivers currently leads Group B in the NWFL Premiership with 24 points, two ahead of Bayelsa Queens, Footballrover reports.

Drawing from their recent success in the Rivers State FA Cup, both Ifeoma and her coach, Whyte Ogbonda, emphasised their readiness for the challenge.
“We are prepared for the match. We know it’s a big game, but myself and my girls are ready for Bayelsa Queens,” Ifeoma declared.
While acknowledging the rivalry and the strength of their opponents, Ifeoma dismissed any anxieties surrounding the match.
“There is no pressure at all; I’m sure of victory at the end on Wednesday,” she asserted.
In agreement with Ifeoma, Ogbonda claimed that the FA Cup win was a valuable warm-up match.
“We are well prepared. The FA Cup match was part of our preparation, and we are expecting a tough fight from Bayelsa Queens. We are ready to ensure we get the victory,” he stated.
The last encounter between these two teams ended in a 1-1 draw.
With both sides vying for a top position, Wednesday’s match promises to be an exciting display of women’s football in Nigeria.
