Rivers Angels head coach, Whyte Ogbonda, has revealed that his team played with anxiety during their 2-0 win over Confluence Queens in the NWFL Super Six playoff.
Despite securing maximum points, Ogbonda acknowledged the challenging match and praised his players’ collective effort, particularly Peace Effiong and Chiamaka Okwuchukwu, for their fighting spirit, Footballrover reports.
The matchday 4 fixture lived up to expectations, with the Jewels of Rivers showing off their intent from the first whistle to the last.
However, anxiety affected their performance in the first half, with several chances missed.
Chiamaka Okwuchukwu eventually broke the deadlock in the 70th minute and sealed the victory with her brace in the 90th minute.
