The victory at the Makwada Stadium keeps the Port Harcourt side firmly in the hunt for points, momentum, and a place in the Super Six, Footballrover reports.

Rivers Angels Control First Half Despite Missed Chances

Abasiofon Uwah was the star of the night, scoring a brilliant second-half hat-trick to hand the Jewels of Rivers all three points on the road and extend their strong record at the venue.

The PH City Angels settled quickly after kickoff, with captain Ijeoma Onweagba setting the tone as the visitors dominated possession and territory.

Adamawa Queens were forced into a defensive shape, relying on goalkeeper Samuel Sheba to keep the scores level.

The Jewels of Rivers created several openings before the break. Ifeoma Ikenokwalu’s well-struck free kick was saved on 15 minutes, while Abasiofon Uwah’s close-range header narrowly missed the post four minutes later.

Onweagba herself struck the woodwork in the 27th minute, and Jumia Adebayo fired wide shortly before halftime.

Despite the pressure, the first half ended goalless, with Rivers Angels clearly in control but still searching for a breakthrough.

Abasiofon Uwah Hat-Trick Powers Rivers Angels Victory

The breakthrough finally arrived eleven minutes after the restart. Abasiofon Uwah rose highest to convert a precise free-kick delivery from Polinus Ifeoma, giving Rivers Angels a deserved lead.

Just seven minutes later, Uwah struck again. This time, she reacted fastest to a Jumia Adebayo free kick, doubling the advantage and shifting full control to the visitors.

Adamawa Queens struggled to respond as Rivers Angels continued to dictate the pace.

The forward completed her hat-trick in the 81st minute, heading home from a Polinus Ifeoma corner kick to seal an emphatic win.

The goal capped a dominant second-half display and sweet attacking quality from the visitors.

After four minutes of added time, the referee brought proceedings to a close with the Tosan Blankson side celebrating a confident 3–0 victory away from home.

What the Result Means for Rivers Angels

The win gives Rivers Angels a strong restart to their NWFL Premiership campaign and boosts confidence ahead of the next round of fixtures.

The former champions remain well placed in the Super Six race.
