Just a week after leading the team to secure a crucial win over Sevilla, the Nigerian stars were on target once again, proving to be Tenerife’s driving force in Liga F, footballrover reports.

Valencia took the lead early in the Liga F Round 18 clash when Yasmin Mrabet struck in the 18th minute, putting Tenerife on the back foot.

Despite pushing forward, the visitors struggled to find an equaliser before halftime.

However, seven minutes into the second half, Rinsola Babajide stepped up to take a penalty and coolly slotted it home, bringing Tenerife back into the game.

The goal marked her 10th direct goal contribution of the season—seven goals and three assists—as she also earned for herself the Player of the Match award.

Gift Monday seals the comeback in stoppage time

Valencia brought on another Nigerian, Motunrayo Ezekiel, making it three Super Falcons stars on the field as they sought a goal.

Tenerife continued to press for a winner, with Gift Monday coming close on multiple occasions, even rattling the woodwork.

The breakthrough finally came in stoppage time when the Nigerian forward capitalised on a late opportunity to fire home the decisive goal, sealing a 2-1 victory.

That strike extended Gift Monday’s scoring streak to five consecutive matches, bringing her season tally to 12 goals and three assists.

Tenerife’s latest victory also marked their third consecutive league win after victories over Madrid CFF and Sevilla.

With this result, Tenerife has climbed to 5th place in Liga F with 29 points and will aim to extend their winning run when they face Eibar next Sunday.
