As the Nigeria Premier League (NPFL) enters its final stretch, Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has issued a bold warning to title rivals Enugu Rangers: his team will not give up on the trophy chase.
Despite trailing Rangers by two points, Ogunmodede believes Remo Stars still have a chance to overtake the Flying Antelopes at the top of the table, Footballrover reports.
With four matches left to play this season, the coach emphasised that the NPFL title race is still very much wide open.
“The race is extremely open, and we’re going to fight till the end to achieve our goals,” he declared.
The Sky Blue Stars, who are seeking their first NPFL title in the club’s history, are currently sitting in third place with 59 points.
To leapfrog Rangers, Remo Stars need a specific set of circumstances to unfold.
They must win their match against Lobi Stars by a significant margin of seven goals, while Enugu Rangers and Enyimba must play out a draw.
As Remo Stars prepare to face Lobi Stars at the Lafia City Stadium, Coach Dan has urged his players to remain focused and determined.
