After enduring a challenging international break marked by a hostage crisis in Libya, Raphael Onyedika returned to action and played a pivotal role in Club Brugge’s 2-1 win over KVC Westerlo on Saturday afternoon in the Belgian Pro League.
His fine assist helped the visitors secure their fifth league victory of the season at Het Kuipje, Footballrover reports.
Club Brugge entered the match looking to bounce back from a 1-1 draw with Union St. Gilloise.
Onyedika wasted no time in making an impact, setting up Jorne Spileers for the opening goal just four minutes into the game.
Hans Vanaken doubled their lead 20 minutes later, but KVC Westerlo’s Allahyar Sayyadmanesh pulled one back just before halftime, keeping the contest tight.

In addition to his assist, the 23-year-old midfielder registered over 55 touches, completing 37 accurate passes, including five key passes in the final third, and fired two shots on goal.
