Enugu Rangers head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has expressed his pride and congratulations to Kenneth Igboke on his maiden call-up to the Super Eagles.
Igboke, a left-back, has been added to the national team’s squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic, Footballrover reports.
Coach Ilechukwu took to social media to praise Igboke, saying,
“Congratulations, Kenneth Igboke, on your first national team call-up. This is a reward for hard work. I have no doubt in your ability from day 1. I believe you will make me and the Rangers family proud in the national team. I wish you all the best sabi player.”
Igboke’s invitation comes following an injury to Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, who has been ruled out of action for four weeks.
The Rangers defender has been a key player in the team’s backline this season, registering over three goals and impressing with his performances.
Although it is unlikely that Igboke will get minutes in the two games, his call-up is surely a huge reward for his hard work and dedication, according to his coach.
