Enugu Rangers’ head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has expressed disappointment after his team’s challenging match against Katsina United in the NPFL, where they conceded over four goals.
Speaking to NPFL media after the Sunday clash at the Young Katsina Stars stadium, the coach admitted that it was a great game for both teams, Footballrover reports.
However, Ilechukwu labelled his team’s performance in the 4-3 defeat as “unacceptable.”

Despite acknowledging the game’s excitement, he voiced dissatisfaction with the goals his team let through in the matchday 29 encounter.
“Scoring three goals in an away game is not an easy one, but conceding four goals is not acceptable in football,” he stated.
This loss halted the Flying Antelopes’ impressive 10-game unbeaten streak in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Despite enjoying a string of seven victories and three draws, the sudden defeat left Ilechukwu disheartened.
“I am so sad about that, but we can only move on as the game is gone,” he lamented.
Looking ahead to their upcoming match against the Abia Warriors, Ilechukwu vowed to address the team’s weaknesses.

The Coal City side will face Abia Warriors at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Friday, with Ilechukwu focusing on preparing the team mentally and tactically for the challenge.
“All we need to do is psyche the boys up, identify the challenging area, and make the corrections going into the game.”
