Nigerian forward Rafiu Durosinmi was a joy to watch in the Czech First League clash between Viktoria Plzen and Karviná, and the Super Eagles prospect didn’t disappoint.

He delivered a clutch opening goal that inspired his team to a hard-earned 2-1 home victory on Saturday, Footballrover reports.

Super Eagles Hopeful Makes His Mark in Czech League

The 22-year-old Nigerian broke the deadlock in the first half, after being gifted the ball by Karvina goalkeeper, who cleared the ball poorly to his path.

Plzen later sealed the win with a late penalty, securing all three points in front of their home fans.

Durosinmi’s goal came in the 1. Liga Round 6 clash at the Doosan Aréna, where he found the back of the net just five minutes after the hour mark.

That strike marked his third goal of the season and gave Plzen the lead going into the interval.

Nineteen minutes later, Durosinmi made way for Prince Adu to take his place.

However, momentum quickly shifted when Karviná equalised through Rok Štorman, who was set up by 21-year-old Nigerian midfielder Emmanuel Ayaosi.

Late Drama as Viktoria Plzen Snatches Victory

The visitors, also featuring Nigerian forward Lucky Ezeh, pushed for a second goal as both sides went all out in search of a winner.

But it was Plzen who had the final say.

In the 93rd minute, the home side was awarded a penalty, and Matej Vydra calmly converted from the spot to hand Plzen a dramatic 2-1 victory.

The win lifted Plzen to fourth place on the table with 11 points after six matches.

Durosinmi’s form continues to highlight why he is being monitored as a potential future option for the Super Eagles.

With the narrow victory, Durosinmi and his teammates will now prepare for their next encounter against Slovan Liberec on the last day of August.
