After a long and frustrating knee injury that sidelined him for months, Rafiu Durosinmi is finally back, and he made his return in style.
The Nigerian wonderkid, who once shared the pitch with Tolu Arokodare at club level and academy level, played his first minutes over the weekend, Footballrover reports.
The FC Viktoria Plzen forward wasted no time in showing off the potential he’s well known for, scoring in his first appearance since last October.
But how did he fare in his first match back?
Rafiu Durosinmi returns from injury to steal the show
The 22-year-old Nigerian forward has been in brilliant form for Viktoria Plzen, impressing scouts from top European leagues before his injury.
With an outstanding record of 6 goals and 5 assists in just 11 league matches, Durosinmi was on fire before the injury forced him off the pitch.
Now, after months of rehabilitation, the pacey and powerful forward made his long-awaited return, starting for the B-team of the Czech First League side against Baník Most-Souš.

The match didn’t offer much in the opening moments, as both teams engaged in a tactical battle.
But in the 35th minute, Durosinmi was called upon to take a penalty, a responsibility he embraced with calm confidence.
He slotted the ball past the goalkeeper, putting Viktoria Plzen ahead. The second half saw another goal from Daniel Suchý, securing a 2-0 victory for Viktoria’s reserves.
“I’m happy to finally be back. It wasn’t easy, and I would like to thank everyone who supported me. I felt really good during the match, and I even managed to score a goal. It’s a great feeling,” Durosinmi said after the match.
With his injury behind him, Rafiu Durosinmi’s return could be the start of an exciting chapter for both him and Viktoria Plzen.
