Yusuf Otubanjo has shown no signs of slowing down with his incredible goal-scoring form in the Armenian Premier League as he inspired Pyunik to a commanding away victory over BKMA on Tuesday.
This marks his fourth consecutive game with a goal as Pyunik cruised to a 3-0 away league win, Footballrover reports.
Otubanjo’s goal-scoring spree began with a crucial strike in Pyunik’s 5-0 win over Urartu, followed by a hat-trick against West Armenia and another goal against Van last week, before his fourth consecutive goal came against BKMA.
The Nigerian forward hit the target in the first period of the game as Pyunik crushed their hosts at the Yerevan Football Academy.
The visiting team got off to a good start with a goal from Jose Caraballo barely 11 minutes into the match and a spot kick from Otubanjo six minutes before halftime.
Three minutes of additional time saw 18-year-old defender Mark Avetisyan score an own goal to seal the game for the visitors.
Yusuf Otubanjo might not be your regular top striker, but his quality and impact on the Pyunik team won’t be denied despite his age, as he has now scored six goals in the last four games.
However, the 31-year-old forward has registered well over 20 goals in the Armenian Premier League this season.
With the victory, Pyunik is now just a point behind league leader Noah, with two games left to play, while BKMA continues to languish at the bottom.
What’s next for the ever-dependable Nigerian striker and his teammates?? They will be hosting table-topper Noah at the Junior Sport Stadium on Tuesday with the hopes of snatching the league title.
