After the disappointing match against Wolves on Sunday, Chelsea’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has shouldered the blame for their 2-1 loss, acknowledging their own missteps as the primary cause.
The hosts, bolstered by goals from Mario Lemina and Matt Doherty, secured a two-goal advantage, only for Christopher Nkunku to pull one back during his league debut at Molineux.

But it wasn’t enough to even rescue a point for the Blues, Footballrover reports.
Pochettino expressed his team’s belief in deserving more from the game but conceded that the defeat rested solely on their shoulders.
He pinpointed mistakes, stressing the importance of self-accountability, attributing their downfall to errors and missed opportunities they couldn’t afford.
Expressing disappointment, he highlighted the team’s confidence in deserving a better result, lamenting their lack of clinical finishing—a costly flaw in a competitive setting that harshly penalizes such lapses.
“We are our own enemy. Today, we lost the game,” Pochettino said.
The manager emphasized the added challenge after conceding from a series of corners, exacerbating an already tough situation.
Pochettino also identified the youthfulness of his squad as a contributing factor to Chelsea’s struggle in the final third.
According to Opta Joe, despite creating 57 significant scoring opportunities this term, the Blues have failed to convert 36 of them.
Currently positioned 10th with 22 points, the west London side will enter their next league clash against Crystal Palace seeking to bounce back from this setback.
