Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino has been battling with so many injuries this season, and these mounting injury concerns keep increasing as they gear up for their upcoming match against Burnley later today.
The Premier League side has grappled with an extensive list of injuries throughout the season, prompting questions about Pochettino’s training regimen, Footballrover reports
In a recent statement, the Chelsea manager acknowledged that he’s aware of the causes of the injuries but refrained from elaborating further.
“We know why we have so many injuries, but we cannot explain it. We will maybe never be able to explain it, or maybe one day. But, at the moment, we have to be calm and strong,” he said.
Addressing the imminent Burnley encounter, the 52-year-old gaffer expressed confidence in Chelsea’s organisational efforts to address the ongoing challenges.
“We have a really good organisation, and we are trying to fix all the problems,” he revealed.
Despite substantial investments exceeding £1bn since Todd Boehly assumed ownership, succeeding Roman Abramovich’s tenure, Chelsea has been faced with persistent injury setbacks under Pochettino’s leadership.
Nine players are confirmed to be absent for the forthcoming clash at Stamford Bridge.
The team’s injury woes threaten to impede their league standing, currently positioned 11th and facing the looming prospect of another season without European football.
To salvage their European aspirations, Chelsea must overcome Manchester City in the upcoming FA Cup semi-final and clinch victory in the tournament.
