Plateau United is seriously preparing for the 2024/25 Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) season with a fresh wave of talent, officially confirming the signing of 11 new players.
The Peace Boys are not just aiming to make a splash; they’re ready to storm the league with their newly assembled squad, Footballrover reports.
The team took to social media on Thursday morning to announce their latest acquisitions, sending a clear message to the rest of the NPFL—Plateau United means business this season.
Here’s the star-studded lineup of Plateau United’s new signings:
– Chukwuebuka Anthony from Akwa United
– Ibe Chumakpa Michael coming in hot from AS Douanes in Burkina Faso
– Saka Gafar bringing flair from Morak FC in Warri
– Chinedu Sunday poached from Lobi Stars FC
– Mafeng Badung, a strong player from Sunshine Stars FC.
– Collins Onovughe, adding power from Warri Wolves FC
– Igbaakaa Dickson, a solid import from Legon Cities in Ghana
– Vincent Temitope, also from Sunshine Stars FC, ready to shine
– Sadiq Adamu, one skilled player from Rivers United
– Kenneth James, versatile and ready, from Kwara United
– Adewale Adeyinka, the final piece of the puzzle, also from Kwara United
With these reinforcements, Plateau United, who finished 5th last season, are setting their sights on a top-four finish and a coveted continental spot this time around.
After missing out by just five points last season, they’re more determined than ever.
But first, they’ll have to face a fierce local derby against Katsina United at the Jos International Stadium on September 8.
Meanwhile, the team is already sharpening their skills in the Gusau Ahlan Pre-season Tournament.
Earlier today, they clashed with Mailantarki FC in a thrilling Matchday 2.
The Jos-based team continued their preseason campaign with a narrow 1-0 win.
Another new signing Vincent Temitope delivered all three points once again as he buried the ball home from a fantastic low cross from Sadiq Adamu.
