Plateau United assistant coach, Patrick Mancha, has expressed his team’s determination to recover lost points when they face Enyimba in their final NPFL game this weekend.
Following a 1-1 draw with Kano Pillars on Sunday, Mancha attributed their inability to claim victory to fatigue, Footballrover reports.
Veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali and Sam Pam Jr. scored for Kano Pillars and Plateau United, respectively, to make sure both sides shared the spoils.
Despite the draw, Mancha praised his players’ efforts, claiming that his boys tried their best, but some factors affected the outcome of the game.
He noted the team returned from Lagos on Saturday and played a high-stakes match the next day, which was challenging.
“I can’t take anything away from the visitors; they did their best. But I believe we will make up for the lost points against Enyimba,” Mancha added.
The Peace Boys are set to face the People’s Elephant in Aba on Sunday, aiming to finish the season on a high note.
Mancha emphasised the team’s commitment to securing a victory against Enyimba.
Plateau United has accumulated 58 points from 37 NPFL matches.
They need a win and a favourable result elsewhere to secure a continental spot next season.
It is also important to note that Enyimba FC take on Plateau United FC on the final day. If Plateau United FC win in Aba, they could possibly swoop in at the last minute and steal a continental spot should 3SC get any result other than a win in #SHOSPO.#NPFL24 https://t.co/ED75749HnZ

If Plateau United wins in Aba, they could clinch a last-minute continental berth, provided Shooting Star does not win against Sporting Lagos.
