An early goal scored by Paul Mara in second minutes of the first half was all South Sudan needed to record a historic victory 1-0 against Central African Republic in the on-going Africa Cup Of Nations, Group B, Round 2, match.
The early goal by South Sudan was the team’s highest moment in the 90 minutes duration of the game as their opponents, Central African Republic, controlled the greater part of the game earning and wasting ten corner- kicks in the process.
Central African Republic missed a clear chance to equalize with a free kick in 27th minutes of the half at the periphery of South Sudan eighteen yard box which hit the top of South Sudan goal post and rebounded into the field of play.

Two South Sudan’s players, Kennedy Martin, and Romeo Ouagoule were stretchered out of the field of play in 68th, and 76th minutes of the second half, and were respectively replaced by Ebon Wajo, and Alban Goyema.
In 86th minutes of the second half and with the injury blow of two of their key players, South Sudan almost increased the tally to two against CAR with sustained goal mouth melee against the goalkeeper.
The South Sudan’s hard earned victory against Central African Republic places the team in the third position after two matches behind Congo Republic, and Uganda.
