Rivers United has officially completed the signing of their former striker, Ossy Martins, on a free transfer.
The 22-year-old forward is making a triumphant return to the Pride of Rivers, having signed a one-year contract with the former champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Previously, Martins had been with Tunisian club Tataouine, where he managed to appear in seven games and struggled to find his scoring form.
Despite initial plans for the forward to join Sweden’s Östers IF, the move was thwarted by visa and time limitations.
In the upcoming season, the energetic forward will face competition from players such as Nyima Nwagua and Ivorian talent Bernard Kouassi for a coveted starting position in the Stanley Eguma first team.
Martins had previously been associated with Lobi Stars and Rangers International of Enugu.

His time with the Flying Antelopes lasted just one season before he moved to US Tataouine in 2022, followed by a stint at Dumlupinar TSK last season.
