Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen has made his intentions clear as the highly anticipated derby against Beşiktaş approaches: his singular focus is on achieving victory for his team rather than seeking personal accolades.
Since joining Galatasaray last month, Osimhen has been in brilliant form for the Turkish side, having either scored or assisted in every match played, Footballrover reports.
He has managed to gather over three goals and five assists across six competitive appearances since his move from Napoli.
In the recent Super Lig match against Antalyaspor, Osimhen showed off his remarkable talent by scoring an overhead kick from an impressive height of 2.32 meters, securing a 3-0 win for his side.
This incredible feat placed him just behind Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for the highest overhead kick in history.
Victor Osimhen: A team player at heart
As Galatasaray prepares to face Beşiktaş, Osimhen acknowledges the challenge that lies ahead but exudes confidence in his team’s readiness.
Following a thrilling 4-3 victory over Elfsborg in the Europa League, he expressed a strong desire for his team to focus on collective success.
During an interview with Beyaz TV, the Super Eagler forward emphasised the importance of teamwork, stating,
“Of course I think the Beşiktaş match will be tough. But we are ready and will give it our all. We want to get the 3 points.
“I don’t care whether I score against Beşiktaş or not.
“I just want to win. The team wants to win too. I think we are ready,” he said.
The striker’s impressive adaptation and impactful performances have already established him as an important player within the Galatasaray team, continuing his exceptional rise in the game.
