Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins has revealed that he predicted to Cole Palmer that he would assist him in the Euro 2024 semifinal match between England and the Netherlands.
Ollie Watkins emerged as a national hero on Wednesday night when he scored the winning goal that propelled England to the Euro 2024 final courtesy of a brilliant assist from Cole Palmer, Footballrover reports.
In a post-match interview, Watkins revealed a remarkable premonition he shared with teammate Cole Palmer just before entering the game.
“I swear on my life, my kid’s life, I said to Cole Palmer. We’re coming on today, and you’re gonna set me up,” he said.

Watkins’ prophecy came true as the Chelsea star set him up for the winning goal, sending England to the final.
England took the lead early in the first half thanks to a Harry Kane penalty. The score stayed the same until very late in the game.
With just 10 minutes left, Coach Gareth Southgate made a smart substitution by bringing on Ollie Watkins and Cole Palmer for Kane and Foden.
This change was key to England’s victory, as Watkins scored the winning goal with an assist from Palmer.
The 28-year-old forward, who notched well over 27 goals and 13 assists for Aston Villa last season, was later named UEFA Man of the Match with his first chance at the Euros.
England will now play a strong Spanish team in the Euro 2024 finals on Sunday, aiming to win their first major trophy in over 50 years.
