Arsenal defender – Oleksandr Zinchenko, has reflected on their victory over Aston Villa during their Premier League match on Saturday, stressing it was imperative for them to get back on track.
The 26-year-old acknowledged that earning the victory and all three points was crucial for the team, because of the effect it will have in the dressing room, training ground, and team rhythm in addition to helping them maintain their spot on the league table.
Arsenal rediscovered their winning ways after coming from behind twice to stun Villa 4-2 at Villa Park.
Barely five minutes into the encounter, Watkins gave the home team the lead with a goal, but Saka quickly pulled one back with a beautiful half-volley.
Still in the first half, Coutinho gave Villa the advantage again and after the interval, Arsenal played a completely different game with Nketiah hitting the crossbar before Zinchenko blasted in the equalizer.
Jorginho’s attempt in stoppage time struck the crossbar and crossed the goal line off Martinez’s head, before Martinelli’s goal with the last kick, which he scored after a swift counter, sealed the victory.
While speaking to the club media after the big win at Villa Park, the former Man City player said;
“It was important for us to be back on track, its not just about in terms of points and the table. Its about the rhythm and our mood in the dressing room and the training ground. We just need to keep.fighting until the very end.”
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta, the head coach of Arsenal, also complimented his team’s performance in their 4-2 victory over Aston Villa, stating that it is crucial to convert efforts into successes.
“Its mental. The boys have been playing really well. We played well against Brentford and could have maybe won the game if it wasn’t for that decision. Against City we play well and today you want to win the game and break that thing. So Turning performances into results is so important and they are so happy.”
