Nottingham Forest has officially named none other than Super Eagles defender Ola Aina as the September Player of the Month.

The Nigerian defender Ola Aina secured this prestigious title by amassing an impressive number of votes from devoted Forest fans.

The 26-year-old has been in outstanding form and made a huge impact at the City Ground following his arrival from Serie A club Torino in the summer.

In September alone, the Nigerian international dazzled in their narrow victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and went ahead to display a stunning performance in their 1-1 draw against Burnley before they were crushed by Manchester City.

His impressive input earned him a well-deserved winner of the September Player of the Month award after being voted for by 40% of the club’s supporters.

The full-back expressed his gratitude to the supporters in an Instagram story post after receiving his award.

He said, “I did a thing, thank you for the support.”

The Nigerian duo at Nottingham Forrest have experienced back-to-back success at the club.

Recall that his Super Eagles teammate, Taiwo Awoniyi, also picked up the prestigious award back in August.

Ola Aina, who can play on both the right and left sides of defence has been putting on a run of reliable performances.

He has featured for the Tricky Trees in five league games so far this season, and he shows no signs of slowing down.

Meanwhile, former Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi, has been selected as the Goal of the Month for September as a result of his goal against Burnley.

The winger made his Forest debut with a spectacular goal in their 1-1 nighttime draw with the Clarets last month.
