Arsenal’s rising star, Ethan Nwaneri, is in the running for the Carabao Cup Goal of the Round after a sensational strike in his team’s dominant 3-0 win over Preston North End.

But can the 17-year-old’s brilliance stand up against seasoned Premier League stars like Manchester United’s Casemiro and Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo?

Nwaneri’s stunning goal, which doubled Arsenal’s lead in the 33rd minute, has earned him a place among the competition’s top contenders, Footballrover reports.

The attacking midfielder curled a precise effort just outside the box, following a precise pass from Gabriel Jesus.

The Hale End product has been in excellent form, scoring a brace in his EFL Cup debut against Bolton Wanderers before following it up with another memorable strike against Preston.

His recent performances have placed him among the six players vying for the Carabao Cup Goal of the Round.

But competition is fierce. the youngster will need to outshine notable names such as Sheffield Wednesday’s Djeidi Gassama, Southampton’s James Bree, and Tottenham’s Pape Sarr, as well as the formidable Casemiro, Gakpo, and of course Bruno Fernandes.

With impressive ratings and performances, Ethan, who is currently the fifth highest-rated player in this season’s Carabao Cup, is firmly in the mix.

However, to win this important award, he will need to surpass the efforts of some of the Premier League’s best.
